Tony Privett has a diverse history of communications and marketing positions, both in public and private sectors. From 1995 - 2003, he oversaw the communications and legislation departments for the City of Lubbock and served on the Texas Municipal League Board of Directors.
As President of Grizzard Enterprises from 1984-1990, Tony directed the marketing and business affairs of the noted humorist, columnist, and author Lewis Grizzard. In addition to the management of Mr. Grizzard's career, Tony created new companies for Grizzard Enterprises, including a book publisher, comedy record label, newsletter publisher, and literary agency.
Tony Privett directed sales and marketing departments with both general trade and scholarly book publishers, including Peachtree Publishers, Texas Monthly Press, and Texas Tech University Press. He was also founding Chairman of the Board and co-owner of Longstreet Press.
Tony is the president of the Slaton Railroad Heritage Association, and oversees the restoration of the 1912 Harvey House.
